Early Social Communication Differences (Under 5s)

Early Social Communication Differences (Under 5s)

In Tower Hamlets, the NHS and Children and Family Centres and Family Hubs are working together to help children with ‘social communication differences’ (SCD) or autism.

Together we run different groups to meet your child's needs. You can attend these groups in any order. Together with a professional, you can decide which group you think is best for you.

EAL families pathway – Adapted sessions:

For families that do not speak English or Sylheti, you can still access our Understanding social communication differences and Learn and Connect sessions. These will be offered to families with an interpreter and can be attended either online or in person. To request this please email us: [email protected]

For more information: Please ask your nearest Children and Family Centre, ask a health professional or email [email protected]

**Specialist support is available where required once families have accessed the above targeted groups. Professionals supporting you in these groups will discuss with you if they feel this specialist intervention is right for you and your child.

An Occupational Therapist or Speech and Language Therapist will set goals with you to develop your child’s interaction and independence in their daily lives. This support is carried out through home visits.

To refer a family to a specific activity/group at a Children and Family Centre, please complete highlighted sections of the MAST form and email the form back to MAST Team
