Wraparound Childcare Information
Wraparound Childcare Information
Wraparound childcare is childcare that ‘wraps around’ the conventional school day. It is for primary-aged school children from 8am to 6pm during term time weekdays and is OFSTED registered childcare provided by your local school or childcare provider. It should not require parents and carers to collect their child or children from school and drop them off at another location.
Childcare providers offering wraparound childcare can be on or off your school site and may be delivered by your school, childminders, pre- schools, nurseries or activity clubs. You may know it as breakfast and or after school clubs.
How much will it cost and is financial support available?
Providers and schools will set their own fees for wraparound places, so prices will vary. Wraparound childcare must be paid for by parents and carers directly to school or provider.
Our ambition is that schools and providers keep costs affordable for families. If you are eligible for Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit Childcare you will be able to use the support to help pay for wraparound care.
