Service Description
Social Action for Health (Sure STEPS) offers free one-to-one and group support for pregnant women, parents, and carers of children under 5 in Tower Hamlets and Hackney. We help families who are going through tough times or financial difficulties by providing emotional support, practical advice, and safe spaces to connect. We offer:
One-to-One Peer Support – parents are matched with trained volunteer peer supporters who provide emotional and practical help, a listening ear, and referrals to specialist services if needed
Weekly Women’s Wellbeing Group – free drop-in sessions including play and social time for parents and children, lunch, digital and financial support, and a private space for individual questions
Financial Wellbeing Workshop – first Friday of each month, covering money-saving tips, benefits, managing debt, and cost-of-living support
Community Birth Group – last Friday of each month, offering information on maternity care, birth options, rights, and post-birth support in a friendly, non-judgmental space
