Girls Friendly Society (GFS) Mile End
Description
Service Description
GFS Mile End offers weekly sessions on Tuesdays during term time, 5:30pm - 6:45pm at the Bernie Cameron Community Centre. It is a space for girls and young women to meet new friends in a relaxed, girls-only environment. We host a range of fun activities including crafts and life skills, games and trips out. Our programmes are designed to develop self-confidence, life skills and resilience through being part of a supportive, non-judgemental group of girls and young women. GFS exists to tackle the effects of gender inequality on girls and young women, and we want every girl at GFS to feel valued and proud of who she is. More information can be found on our website here: https://girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk/why-we-need-gfs/
GFS provides arts, crafts, drama, science workshops, technology workshops, coding, IT classes, podcast workshops, sports, cooking, film club, singing, outdoor adventures, careers events, and opportunities for girls to campaign for the things that are important to them.
GFS provides opportunities for parents to get involved with sharings and prize-givings which celebrate the achievements of our GFS girls.
