Island House Community

Description

Service Description

Island House Community deliver services through three community themes: Community Training, Community Health and Community Hub.

Our SKILLS project helps disadvantaged people, often non-English speaking BME women, learn language, pre-employment and computer skills.

This improves job prospects and helps with online tasks like travel cards and energy rebates. Our health projects include REFRESH for mindfulness and exercise, SENIORS to reduce loneliness for older people, and Billy’s Pantry for emergency food support.

Our Community Hub provides space for partners and local activities. Community Training: Language, job skills and computer training. Support for online tasks such as council tax and pension credits.

We offer:

REFRESH: Mindfulness and exercise classes
SENIORS: Activities for older people
Billy’s Pantry: Emergency food bags

Community Hub: Space for Island Advice Centre, Quaystone Church and community classes like yoga and gymnastics
