Service Description
Rooted Finance is a Tower Hamlets-based charity with over 20 years of experience providing specialist money and debt advice. We help residents manage debt, maximise income, and access emergency support such as food and fuel vouchers.
Our services are free, confidential, and delivered in-person, online, and through community outreach across London.
We offer help with:
Identifying priority and non-priority debts
All personal debts (rent arrears, council tax arrears, credit cards, etc.)
Emergency food and fuel vouchers
Budgeting advice and income maximisation
Debt solutions: DRO, bankruptcy, Breathing Space applications
Access to charitable grants and assistance
We also offer activities including:

Appointment-based or drop-in community outreach sessions
Training and guidance sessions for groups and individuals
Research and campaigning to address financial inequalities

Call us directly on our advice line on 020 3475 8811 from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Partner organisations can refer clients by completing the RF referral form and emailing it to info@rootedfinance.org.uk
Once received, we send a text to the client confirming receipt
Within 24 hours, we contact the client for an initial assessment and schedule an appointment
Appointments can be telephone, face-to-face, or online, based on client preference
During the assessment, we prepare a provisional financial statement, address urgent issues, and provide food bank vouchers if needed
We may also identify additional referral needs and guide clients to other relevant services
