Who are we?

The East London Community Eating Disorders Service for Children and Young People (sometimes called EL CEDS-CYP) provides specialist assessment, treatment and clinical management for children and young people experiencing an eating disorder and their families.

We provide support to children, young people and families based in City & Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham.

Our team includes:

- Psychiatrists
- Pediatricians
- Nurses (pediatric and mental health)
- Support Workers
- Therapists (family therapists, clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists)
- Dieticians
- Operational and Administrative staff

We have a central base in Tower Hamlets at the Emmanuel Miller Centre, but we also have sites at Newham CAMHS, 411 Barking Road, E13 8AL and City & Hackney CAMHS, 15 Homerton Row, E9 6ET. We will see young people and their families at their closest site.

What do we do?

The services provided are community based and focus on:

- Empowering children, young people and their families to recover from an eating disorder using evidence based treatments.
- Minimising the physical, psychological and social impact of an eating disorder on the individual and their family.
- Personalised care planning.
- Raising awareness and detection of eating disorders within the wider community.
- Enable families and professionals to positively support children and young people with an eating disorder.

To comment or complain about the service you received, please begin by speaking to any member of staff in our team. The management team are also available to discuss concerns or complaints and work to resolve matters quickly where possible.
