Service Description
The Early Education and Childcare Inclusion Team consists of Area Inclusion Coordinators who support private, voluntary and independent (PVI) early years childcare settings, which includes child minders, to develop their inclusive practice.
Inclusion training and a termly support group is available to all providers in the Early Education and Childcare sector.

The Early Education and Childcare Inclusion Team provide inclusion advice around:
• meeting the duties outlined in the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2021
• the role of the setting Inclusion Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure arrangements are in place to support children with additional needs
• identification, assessment and intervention for children with additional needs
• approaches when working with parents of children with additional needs
• liaising with services and completing referrals
• completing Education, Health and Care needs assessment requests
• developing inclusive ethos and environments
• transition planning
• SEN Inclusion Fund (SENIF)
• contributing to the Local Offer
The Inclusion Coordinator (SENCo) in PVI provision will lead in the coordination of identification and planning for children with additional needs. The Inclusion Coordinator can contact their link Area Inclusion Coordinator for any advice.
