Service Description

Discovery House provides overnight short breaks and a range of other services for young people with Autism aged 5-18 years old. We provide Day-care service during weekends, Saturday club for 5-11 years old based in children centre Meath Gardens, after school club on Wednesday and Thursday 3-7.30pm, residential placements during weekends and weekblock placements in school holidays. We also have parents group very Tuesday on a monthly basis. This session is for parents of service users and also for new families who would like to join our service. We offer a variety of activities for these sessions including small trips.
We are Ofsted regulated service, we have two unannounced inspection in a year and we have been rated outstanding for the last 6 years. We aim to provide a high quality service to all children and families we support. We have a low staff turnover and therefore we are able to retain our experienced and well trained staff. A vigorous recruitment process along with much mandatory and additional training for all new staff so they are equipped to support all young people.
We work in partnership with CWDT, TH Commissioning Team and all other professionals involved in the care of the young people we support. We work closely with schools and families to ensure we provide a safe and high quality service to all young people we support.

6-18 year olds for overnight short breaks, 5-11 year olds for Saturday club, after school club for 8-11 years old. Since 2015 we are also running a service for 18-21 years old who are our existing users.

Spot purchases of placement available during an emergency hourly rate of £22.50
