Welcome to
St Mary and St Michael Catholic Primary School
Headteacher - Mrs Rachel Mahon
We are a Catholic Voluntary Aided School for children from 3 – 11 years. We currently have 470 children on roll divided into seventeen classes. We provide education for children in three distinct phases:
(I) The Early Years
Foundation Stage Nursery & Reception 3 – 5 years
(i) Key Stage 1
5 – 7 years – Years 1 & 2
(ii) Key Stage 2
7 – 11 years, Years 3 – 6.
We are situated in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and come under the Trusteeship of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Westminster.
The school was founded by and is part of the Catholic Church. The school is conducted as a Catholic school in accordance with Canon law and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, and in accordance with the Trust Deeds of the Archdiocese of Westminster.
In particular –
(a) Religious education is to be in accordance with the teachings, doctrines, discipline and general and particular norms of the Catholic Church;
(b) Religious worship is to be in accordance with the rites, practices, discipline and liturgical norms of the Catholic Church; and at all times the school is to serve as a witness to the Catholic faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

We provide our children with a broad and balanced curriculum enriched by local outings visiting theatre groups and workshops. We are committed to providing a wide range of out of school hours learning opportunities to meet the needs and interests of our children.
