Service Description
The Baby Feeding service offers support and information on all matters related to feeding babies. If you live in Tower Hamlets or give birth at the Royal London Hospital, you can come to us for support whether breast or bottle feeding your baby. The team is made up of Baby Feeding Specialists - local mothers who speak Sylheti / Bengali and Somali as well as English and have breastfed their own children and undertaken further training to support other mothers.
The team runs 2-hour getting ready to breastfeed antenatal workshops. Please book on Eventbrite to book.
The team support mothers on the postnatal ward at the Royal London hospital, and they visit mothers at home to help them get off to a good start with feeding their babies in the early days.
The team runs 6 breastfeeding drop-in groups each week. Details of the groups can be found at www.thfamilyhubs.co.uk Just turn up. No need to book.

The Tower Hamlets Baby Feeding service works alongside the midwifery and health visiting services to support mothers and help them overcome any challenges with feeding their babies. A Baby Feeding specialist may see you at home, at a baby feeding drop-in session or in a child health clinic.
