In partnership with the Gronthee, the Saudha Society presents a DISCUSSION on Begum Rokeya, a leading Bengali feminist in the early 20th Century who was the first to examine inequality and discrimination against women, focusing on her relevance in the 21st Century. The speakers include leading female academics from Bangladesh, India, Latin America and the UK. There will also be READINGS from Rokeya’s works in English and a PERFORMANCE of her short play Sultana’s Dream.
