Is your child protected against preventable illness?


Vaccinations prevent a range of illnesses and are free for all children.

 

The following vaccines will be offered to all primary school children:

Influenza (or the flu)

Given every year from October onwards

All children from reception to year 6 to receive it

Given via nasal spray or Gelatine free injection (Halal)

The following vaccines will be offered to all secondary school pupils:

Influenza (or the flu)

All children from year 7 to year 11

Given via nasal spray or Gelatine free injection (Halal)

HPV

Boys and girls aged 12 to 13 years old to receive it

Given via injection in arm

DTP (Diptheria, Tetanus and Polio)

Boys and girls aged 14 years old (school age year 9)

One dose only

Given via injection in arm

Boys and girls aged 14 years old (school year 9)

One dose only

Given via injection in arm

A link to complete a consent form will be sent via your school. Your school will provide you with the dates that the immunisation team will be attending the school, for Influenza this is usually between October –December each year. Year 8 HPV January -March. Year 9 DTP/ACWY April - June.

Your local immunisation team also run regular clinics throughout the year. Details for these can be found by contacting your immunisation team below or visiting catch up clinics.
