Sign up for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
We are excited to announce that we are now running the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) at our youth centre, Urban Adventure Base!
It is usually costs £28 to sign up for DofE, however, we are offering FREE sign ups via Urban Adventure Base.
What is DofE?
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a life-changing experience which enables you to:
- Have fun with friends.
- Discover new interests and talents
- A tool to develop essential skills for life and work
- Gain a recognised mark of achievement for your CV which is respected by employers
Who is DofE for?
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is for young people between the ages of 14 to 24.
- Bronze – for those aged 14+ years
- Silver – for those aged 15+ years
- Gold – for those aged 16+ years
What happens during DofE?
You can take part in DofE at one of three levels which will either lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
There are four sections to complete at Bronze and Silver level and five at Gold - including:
- helping the community/environment
- becoming fitter and healthier
- developing new skills
- planning, training for and completing an expedition
- for Gold only, working with a team on a residential activity
Achieving an Award isn’t a competition or about being first. It’s all about setting personal challenges and pushing personal boundaries.
How do I sign up?
We are hosting DofE Open Days every Monday from 4pm to 6pm.
The Open Days are held at Urban Adventure Base (150 Burdett Road, Mile End Park, London, E3 4JT)
