Service Description

Children’s Centres help give your child the best start in life. If you are expecting a baby or are a parent or carer with a child under five, you can attend a range of free universal sessions. You can also access child and family health services, childcare and early years education advice as well as volunteering and training support.

Children’s centres also provide one to one support for families with children under 11.”

A range of services for families with children under five year’s old living in the John Smith Child Centre catchment area. For example,
• Drop-in stay and play sessions
• Cook and eat sessions
• Physical play
• One to one family support for hard to reach and vulnerable families through our referral process.
• One to one advice and support around employment and training
• Volunteering opportunities and a chance for parents/careers to play an active part in re-shaping our services through the monthly Parents’ Forum meetings.

We also offer a range of training such as ESOL, Pediatric First Aid training, Food and Hygiene courses with crèche facilities on site. We also deliver a range of parenting programmers such as Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities course, “Learning thru Play” and “Raising Happy Babies”.
