Canary Wharf College 3 Crosshabour
Description
Service Description
Good old East End hospitality was the order of the day as the Isle of Dogs community pulled together to help the children and families of Canary Wharf College Glenworth primary school this week.
The school site had to be closed on Thursday due to a water pump malfunction, but it was business as usual for the school thanks to the help of the local neighbours and community.
The Calders Wharf Community Centre and the Docklands Sailing Centre opened their doors to house the staff and pupils of Canary Wharf College, Glenworth, as did the two other schools in the trust at East Ferry and Crossharbour, so nobody missed a day at school.
Executive Principal, Mrs Sarah Counter said “Eastenders have been known for generations to step in help out when there is adversity. It is wonderful to be part of such a warm and caring community. Staff and pupils rose to the occasion and parents were pleased not to have an unexpected day when they had to find childcare. Thanks to the swift action of local firm J.Munro Property Management the issue has been temporarily fixed until industrial replacement parts have been sourced.”
