Service Description
At the Council for Disabled Children we work with our members and networks to influence national policy. We engage with decision makers including local and national government to help shape policy development. As well as this we respond to government consultations and calls for evidence, provide parliamentary briefings and conduct policy analysis.
As Strategic Reform Partner to the Department for Education we contribute to the development and implementation of key policy initiatives, such as the Children and Families Bill.
We also channel much of our legislative work on education through the Special Educational Consortium (SEC), who work with government when there are proposals for changes in education policy that may affect disabled children.

CDC works to infl uence national policy that impacts upon disabled children and children with special educational needs (SEN) and their families. The organisation aim to promote the active participation of disabled children and young people, making sure their voices and success stories are heard. CDC is made up of
a wide range of professional, voluntary and statutory organizations, including parent representatives, disabled young people and representatives of disabled people.
