Parenting programmes actively support parents and carers to build upon their existing parenting skills and build positive relationships with their children.

Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities (SFSC) is a 13 week parenting programme suitable for parents and carers of children 3-18 years (25 years for people with SEND)

SFSC supports parents to:
• Learn new skills for communicating effectively with their child/young person
• Discuss and practice positive discipline and setting boundaries
• Explore ways to reduce conflict and challenge unacceptable of children’s / young people’s behaviour at different stages
• Establish networks of support and build links within their community

This parenting programme is delivered within schools, children’s centres, community venues and other settings in Tower Hamlets.

Additional Information

One 2 one parenting support is also available for families that have more complex needs or difficulties.

SFSC is also delivered with a specialist focus e.g. supporting parents of child with special educational needs or disabilities, and parents of children who are at risk of extremist activities.
