Parental Engagement Team

Description

Service Description

Parenting programmes are a source of support for all parents and carers and offer parents an opportunity to share their parenting experiences, learn skills to deal with challenging behaviour and build positive relationships with their children.

Parents benefit from increased confidence in managing behaviour and a greater understanding of their child’s development.

The following parenting programmes are available free to Tower Hamlets parents & carers:

- Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities
- ADHD – The Parent Factor
- Speakeasy
- Emotional First Aid
- Triple P, Positive Parenting Programme (suite of programmes )

Programmes range from those that are suitable for all parents to some that are targeted towards parents of children in a particular age group or for families who may have more complex needs.

Some programmes are followed by three 15-30 minute telephone calls (one per week), addressing parents’ individual progress and any concerns they may have.
One – one parenting support is also available for families that have more complex needs or difficulties.

Please contact the parenting team to find out more about this option.
