Service Description
A family centred approach to autism that offers parent groups and individuals support work. The service includes coaching, modelling, video reviews and some direct work with the child with the aim to increase effective involvement from parents. Service for families with children who have development delays including communication, behaviour problems, attachment difficulties or autistic/pre-autistic behaviours. The service caters for 65-80 children and their parents/carers per year. All parents carers interested in receiving support from MindBuilders must attend an introductory session which is organised once a month. This will help parents and carers gain an insight into the work of MindBuilders. Parents can then fill in a registration form for one to one sessions.

For parents wanting to learn more about autism. Sessions allow parents to read books on autism and related topics, borrow books and DVD’s and make resources such as picture timetables to use at home with their child.
