Lung and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month 2021

Cancer

Lung Cancer

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month (LCAM), so it is the perfect time to fundraise for us and support those living with lung cancer. It doesn’t matter what you do. Every little effort can make a big difference to the 47,000 people diagnosed with lung cancer every year.

Spot the difference – Early symptoms of lung cancer can be subtle and easy to ignore, or even dismiss completely- especially at the moment. But the sooner lung cancer is caught, the easier it is to treat.

Pancreatic Cancer

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month, and you could help us to get closer to a breakthrough in early diagnosis and put a much needed spotlight on the disease. Raising awareness of pancreatic cancer means more people know the symptoms and get diagnosed sooner. Let’s make sure everyone knows that this is a cause that we should all care about.

Two new services have been launched under the Tower Hamlets Macmillan Local Authority Partnership Programme to improve personalised care and support for people affected by cancer.

The Macmillan Cancer Care Navigation Service, provided by the East London Foundation Trust, will assess people’s holistic needs and help them produce a care plan whilst the Take Home and Settle Service, provided by Age UK, will ensure the patient’s home environment is safe and clean and provide personal care and support with household tasks, children and other dependents.
