Short Breaks Urban Gym

Our service is for children aged 13-19 and up to 25 years with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulty or disability (LDD). Parents or guardians can book with us directly and do not need a referral.

The Short Breaks Urban Gym has a gym specially equipped to accommodate people with disabilities and learning difficulties. Our qualified instructors are trained to offer supported learning. We have wheel chair adaptable machines and sensory machines to support people who are autistic, have SEN, a LDD, a physical disability or other disabilities.

We have sensory interactive floor & wall mounted exercises as well as Wii rooms with interactive games.

We also have a low sensory room for those who need calming down. We are specifically set up to facilitate vulnerable young people and groups. We have ramps, signs, picture cards to help with communication, additional lighting, padded columns, disabled showers, toilets and water drinking facilities; and entrances lit and clearly mark for visually impaired users. The gym is exclusive for groups to attend with a dedicated instructor, and the gym space is not shared or double booked.
