Service Description

The Baby Feeding service offers support and information on all matters related to feeding babies. If you live in Tower Hamlets or give birth at the Royal London Hospital, you can come to us for support whether breast or bottle feeding your baby. The team is made up of Baby Feeding Specialists - local mothers who speak Sylheti / Bengali and Somali as well as English and have breastfed their own children and undertaken further training to support other mothers.

The team runs 2-hour breastfeeding antenatal workshops. Please book on Eventbrite at NHS Tower Hamlets Baby Feeding Service for evening and weekend women/couples workshops. To book women only daytime workshops for mothers of Bengali origin call 07534248638.

The team support mothers on the postnatal ward at the Royal London hospital, and they visit mothers at home to help them get off to a good start with feeding their babies in the early days.

The team runs 6 breastfeeding drop-in groups each week. Details of the groups can be found at www.facebook.com/b2bth. Just turn up. No need to book.

To speak to a member of the service or request a home visit call 07961 609626 or 020359 42591. Calls will be returned by the next working day.
