Lansbury Lawrence is a happy , creative, and inclusive school in the heart of Poplar, Tower Hamlets, providing excellent education for all.

Staff and pupils are immensely proud to share with you that Lansbury Lawrence is the first school in Tower Hamlets to be accredited by Arts Council England with the prestigious Artsmark Platinum Award for our input and commitment to arts, cultural education, creativity, and wellbeing at the heart of the curriculum.

We are also very proud of our commitment to our environment, with our pupils at the heart of this campaign through their work in the School Council. In recognition of their hard work and dedication, we are also the first school in Tower Hamlets to be awarded an Eco-School Green Flag.

Lansbury Lawrence is a thriving Forest School, building this on the back of our curriculum and supported by an established on-site Edible Garden with dedicated support by our educational gardener. Our green ethos and credentials does not just stop there but weaves into everything we do, from wellbeing to healthy eating at school that was established over 5 years ago and continues today.

We aim to work hard to meet the individual needs of every child and to be able to give them the skills to become lifelong learners, so that they may achieve their full potential .

As a successful school in the area, we are proud of our role in supporting and collaborating with other Poplar Schools, and working alongside Letta, an outstanding Teacher Training provider in East London.

Finally, we are a very friendly and welcoming school with the community at our heart. If you would like to come and look around or perhaps even talk to us, we are always open. Just contact the school directly.

Additional Information

Additional Information

Lansbury Lawrence has undergone huge change over the last few years with extensive improvements to its facilities and outdoor play areas in addition to the modernisation of its classrooms, all of which are now fully equipped with 1-2-1 laptop devices.

Due to the size of the school site, we are very fortunate to have extensive outdoor spaces which include an Edible Garden, a Nature Garden, a Secret Garden, landscaped Water Features, as well as a dedicated football pitch and tennis/netball courts. Our school really is second to none.

The school also offers extended services, which includes wrap-around care from a Breakfast Club that opens at 7.30 to a paid for After School Club at affordable rates from 3.30pm to 6.00pm every day, providing parents with flexible childcare.

In addition, the school also runs a range of extra-curricular activities at the end of the school day, Monday to Friday, through-out the school year.

We follow the Local Authority policy on admissions, which can be found on the Tower Hamlets website. Alternatively, if you require help, we are always willing to help with advice and guidance.
