SIXTH FORM
Four years ago, we formed the Cambridge Heath Sixth form in partnership with two other outstanding schools, Morpeth and Oaklands, which means that students at Swanlea have access to first class education post 16. One of the great benefits of coming to CHSF is that you will have the experience of meeting a wide range of new people.

Our aim is to ensure the personal success of you by providing a supportive learning environment where you will always be treated as an individual, with learning tailored to your personal needs. We have Academic Mentors and Teaching Assistants to facilitate this, as well as a personal tutor to support you. You will find yourself part of a vibrant community with many opportunities for you to get involved whether with trips, special events or activities that will enrich your time in the Sixth Form.

100% of our 2012 cohort of students at CHSF achieved their A level and BTEC national grades. Students in this group have gone on to study courses such as computer science at Sheffield Hallam University, Biomedical science at St. George's, Medical Genetics at Queen Mary, Pharmacy at Kings College London, Law at SOAS, Psychology at Coventry, International Relations at Plymouth University, Philosophy at University Of Wales Trinity St David and many others.

Swanlea School is ten minutes away from the Wessex Centre in Brady Street. We are housed in a modern building which is currently undergoing further expansion and improvement. Our school is friendly and supportive environment and has a successful track record of achievement in post-16 education dating back to 2005.

We have high expectations of our students and our supportive and knowledgeable faculty are known for working with students to achieve their academic goals. We are a strong faculty, a number of our staff have come to teaching from an extensive career within the Business world. You will receive hands on teaching from industry professionals who are able to offer real insight and support.

Cambridge Heath Sixth Formers on the Swanlea campus have exclusive access to a newly-refurbished and very well resourced centre, separate from the lower school. The Sixth Form centre at the Swanlea campus has a common room as well as its own kitchen facilities. All teaching rooms are well equipped with PCs running the latest software suites to support your studies. In addition to this students have access to the main school facilities, including two sports halls and a multi-gym.

Additional Information

Our expectation for Business, ICT and vocational subject students is that you should emulate business-like behaviour. This means adopting a smart casual dress code and modelling good behaviour for the lower school at all times.

Our philosophy is that “99% of success is just turning up!” Great emphasis is placed on 100% attendance and punctuality, just as it is in the Business world.

We have a well established and award-winning programme of collaboration with “big business”. By joining our Sixth Form you will be joining unbeatable links with companies such as Lloyds of London, Merrill Lynch/Bank of America and Nomura. We have also established successful Young Enterprise and Young Chamber programs in which you will be encouraged to participate.

“The quality of teaching in the sixth form is outstanding.”
