AFASIC (Association for All Speech Impaired Children)

Description

Service Description

“Afasic is a specialist charity supporting children, young people and families affected by Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and associated conditions. About 7% of children are affected by Developmental Language Disorder but awareness is low, and parents often struggle to find the information they need and access the services their child requires.

Afasic provides a key source of information, advice and support for families affected via its helpline, website, publications, training events and specialist weeklong transition courses for children facing the move to secondary school. Afasic seeks to raise awareness and to create better services and provision for children and young people with speech and language impairments.

You can contact the Afasic helpline for parents on 0300 666 9410 (Mondays & Wednesdays from 10.30am – 4.00pm), and access free information and resources online at www.afasic.org.uk. “

The helpline is not currently open on a Tuesday – only Monday and Wednesday.
