Service Description

We provide goal focused interventions including parent coaching, skill development, environmental adaptations and equipment provision, advice to schools and nurseries. We support the children and young people to achieve functional outcomes that focus on their daily life activities, such as using the toilet, eating their dinner and playing with their friends. Intervention is provided in groups or on an individual basis, at schools in clinic and within the home.

Additional Information

Occupational Therapy is offered by both the Royal London Hospital and Mile End Hospital. Occupational Therapy aims to develop a child’s potential through assessment, advice and treatment. The service is for pre-school and school aged children with physical and learning disabilities and school aged children with Developmental Coordination Disorder. Service provision includes play, provision of equipment for self-care, lifting, access and positioning, scar and burn management and support on everyday activities and self-care such as feeding, dressing, toileting and washing.
