Description

Service Description

The Central Foundation Girls’ School Sixth Form is a vibrant and distinct learning community. We are committed to providing the highest standards of teaching and learning within a strong academic environment. We believe in maximising our students’ potential through effective guidance and support and by providing a range of opportunities to equip our young people with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the 21st century.

We offer a strong combination of learning and social facilities to ensure students are well catered for. This year we have three distinct learning pathways: accelerated, academic and vocational. These pathways ensure that students of all abilities study appropriate courses on their individual roads to success. We have witnessed a significant rise in our student numbers from less than 230 to over 280 as a result of our new and extended provision. We have also moved to brand new Sixth Form facilities in the Aspire building which is further improving the learning experiences of our students.

We expect you to work to the best of your ability to achieve the highest possible grades.

We encourage you to take an active role in the life of the school and local community as part of the student leadership team as ambassadors , form representatives or as our Head Girl or Deputy Head Girl. There are also opportunities for you to inspire and mentor younger students, to do voluntary work and work experience.

We offer expert careers advice to prepare you for life at university, on apprenticeship courses, in training or in employment. Over 70% of our students attend university every year many of them at Russell Group universities.

From the moment you enrol you will be placed in a form group other students studying similar courses and will share a Form Tutor who will be there to support and encourage you from the day you start to the day you leave. You will see your tutor and fellow tutees every morning during registration and extended form time for lively debates and activities, and will have frequent 1-to-1 Tutorial sessions for in-depth discussion and advice about your progress and ambitions.
