Service Description

At the heart of Green Spring Academy Shoreditch is a commitment to achieving the very best educational outcomes for all students, regardless of ability or background, which go beyond academic success.

Green Spring Academy Shoreditch (GSAS) is an 11-19 academy in the heart of East London. Each student at the academy will be provided with unrivalled experiences; we believe that learning isn’t confined to the classroom and that students thrive when they are continuously inspired, motivated and encouraged. Our commitment is to ensure they leave us at 19 fully prepared as independent and successful young adults, with a portfolio of skills that sets them apart from their contemporaries.

Our staff and students work closely together to achieve their best, making the academy a rewarding and fulfilling place to learn. At GSAS we believe that the richness of our offer is enhanced through extensive partnerships, networks and collaborative projects with other organisations. The cultural, sports, musical, entrepreneurial and social action activities and initiatives we offer are exemplary.

Our pastoral care is of the highest standard for all and we have high expectations of students' behaviour and motivation to learn. Alongside this we recognise that to enable students to make the most of the opportunities on offer, we must develop in them a sense of self-worth and the ability to make well-judged choices. This focus on the individual is embedded in key academy principles, which contribute to the development of young people.

Additional Information

The Sports Hall at Green Spring Academy Shoreditch is open to the public in the evenings between 6pm and 11pm and is available to book at weekends upon request and availability. Our facilities attract a diverse clientele of amateurs to professional level athletes from the local Tower Hamlets area and a variety of London sporting clubs. The centre is also home to the success of our own students, who train, compete and play together throughout the academic year.

The centre promotes a wide range of sports and is particularly well known by volleyball clubs and leagues as the home ground for the Tower Hamlets London Lionhearts VBC. Our facilities are made good use of by the local cricket clubs and more recently, by Futsal 5-a-side teams.

The Sports Hall is also home to our very own Taekwondo champions. The GSAS team have won successive awards in the GSAS Taekwondo Championships.
