Service Description

This service provides evidence based assessments of children with suspected Autistic Spectrum Disorder in partnership with their families, to enable the child or young person to achieve their optimum health and reduce the impact of their disability on their health and well-being. The service provides early identification of suspected autistic spectrum disorders, a coordinated approach to ensure the child’s needs are addressed including referral on to appropriate services, advice and support to families and other professionals and multi-disciplinary assessment carried out by a range of professionals such as health and social care professionals. A professional (such as a GP, health visitor, child’s teacher or social worker) must refer children to this team.
