A youth forum with a difference has been formed to help shape the future for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
Our Time, an all ability youth forum, was launched last month at the Brady Centre. The event, the result of collaboration between Tower Hamlets’ Young People’s Advice Centre and A Team Arts, gave young people a chance to express themselves creatively. Families were entertained with a talent show featuring young people of all abilities showcasing their skills through song, rap and film-making.
Other creative activities included face painting, henna design and badge making. Through events such as this, it is hoped that it will raise awareness of SEND issues and encourage more young people to get involved and have their say.
Warren Carling, 22, Our Time Ambassador said:
"Our Time gives young people a voice and helps them break down social barriers and communicate better with others. It always makes me feel good about myself and more positive."
Our time always welcomes new members. To get involved, email: email@example.com
