The London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) and Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group (THCCG) announce the launch of our new five-year strategy for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Tower Hamlets full SEND Strategy and Tower Hamlets SEND Summary

We celebrated the new Strategy with three launch events in October, each of which focused on one of the priorities for the next five years. We want the new strategy to bring together services, communities and the families of children with SEND so we can have the biggest impact on improving their lives.

Our vision is

... for all Tower Hamlets’ children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to lead fulfilling lives and be as independent as possible, supported to learn, thrive and achieve by their families, services and local communities.

Over 150 came to the three launch events and we were delighted that they all included the views of young people with SEND and parents, as well as showcasing the support provided by eight local schools / colleges and ten different service providers.

The hard work begins from here! We are committed to involving parents and carers in the changes and challenges. We ask that you help us to keep the focus on helping children with SEND to be supported to learn, to thrive and to achieve.
