Tower Hamlets Transition Support Programme advocates early intervention to support children, young people and their families with transitions within education whenever they occur.
Information and advice at key points of transition helps to manage change and supports you and your child to make informed decisions about next steps of the learning journey. Transition Support also provides important information and guidance on a range of challenging issues including managed moves, exclusions and transitional issues around bullying and supporting families at times of difficulty.
Referrals to the service can be by parents/carers.
From spring term your child’s school can book the following free secondary transfer workshops:
- Get Set – a one hour workshop for Year 5 parents/carers - includes the most up to date information and guidance about the secondary transfer application process in preparation for the October 2018 deadline.
- Moving Up – a one hour workshop for Year 6 parents/carers - includes information and guidance to help parents and carers prepare themselves and their child for the move to secondary school and year 7.
